The Most Intricate and Complex Interchanges/Skyways in the World

With the technological progress the Earth had gone through in the past decades, the production of vehicles seem unstoppable. Thousands of thousands of vehicles are being produced each and every year. In this connection, governments are obliged to build and construct wider roads, highways, bridges, viaducts and skyways/interchanges.

Here are some of the most beautifully planned and designed interchanges/skyways in the world.

High Five Interchange


The Central Expressway and I-635 Interchange are commonly known as the High Five Interchange. It is located in the city of Dallas, the third-largest city in Texas and the ninth-largest in the United States.

Attiki Odos


Greece, a country in Europe is one of the most progressive countries in the world. The above photo shows the Attiki Odos, one of the most beautifully designed skyways/freeways in the world.

I-10 and I-45 Interchange

Another beautifully designed interchange in the United States is the I-10 and I-45 Interchange. It is located in Houston, Texas and is the major east-west Interstate Highway in the Southern United States.

Atlanta Downtown Connector


The Atlanta Downtown Connector is a beautifully planned and designed skyway in Atlanta City, one of the largest and most progressive cities in the US. The city hosted the 1996 Summer Olympics. The skyway offers an awesome view especially at night.

One of the most complex and uniquely-designed skyways is the Kennedy Interchange. It is unofficially, though universally, referred to as Spaghetti Junction. This intersection of Interstate 64, 65 and 71 is located at the northeastern edge of downtown Louisville, in Kentucky, USA.

Wearing of hats have been part of human culture since time immemorial. There are different styles and designs of hat. Hats are worn for various reasons. Basically, it is worn for protection from the heat f the sun. In some ways, it is worn as a status symbol or as a symbol of power or authority.

The quality of the hat is determined by the number of "laps" used and its bending flexibility. The more flexible the hat, the higher the quality is. It is also called Sombrero Vueltiado.

Sombrero Cordobes


Sombrero is the Spanish for hat. The Sombrero Cordobes is a traditional hat made in the Cordoba City, Spain. It is also traditionally worn in a large part of Andalusia. In the English-speaking world, Sombrero Cordobes simply mean "Wide-brimmed Hat". The most traditional color is black. It also comes in different colors such as red, pearl gray, sea green and navy blue.

Cowboy Hat


One of the most popular hats in the world is the Cowboy Hat, a high-crowned, wide-brimmed hat. It is best known as the defining piece of attire for the North American cowboy.


Today it is worn by many people, and is particularly associated with ranch workers in the western and southern United States, western Canada and northern Mexico, with country-western singers, and for participants in the North American rodeo circuit.

Chupalla


The Chupalla is a large traditional Chilean horseman’s hat. It is commonly made of straw and worn by many people in rural areas. It is also often used when dancing the Chilean folk dance Cueca and during Chilean rodeos. Types of straw used in making Chupalla include Achupalla (Bromelia plant), wheat and rice.

The Seven Fastest Land Vehicle Records in the World

The vehicles included on the list are the world record title holders. These are all highly-sophisticated and high-tech state-of-the-art vehicles.

1.) Thrust SSC – Fastest Land Speed Record Holder

The land speed record holder belongs to the “Thrust SSC” Turbo fan. It was driven by Andy Green on October 15, 1997 and achieved a breath-taking speed of 1,228 km/hr – the first supersonic record. The event took place at the Black Rock Desert, USA.



The SSC on the Thrust SSC means Supersonic Car. This British jet-propelled car became the first car to officially break the sound barrier.

2.) Vesco Turbinator – Fastest Wheel-driven Land Speed Record

The fastest wheel-driven land speed record belongs to the Vesco Turbinator which was driven by Don Vesco of the United States on October 18, 2001. This land vehicle attained a speed record of 737.395 km/h.

3.) JCB Dieselmax – Fastest Land Speed Record for a Diesel-engined Vehicle


The JCB Dieselmax, a diesel-engined “Streamliner” car was designed to break the land speed record for a diesel-engined vehicle. It holds the World Diesel-powered land speed record with a speed of 560 km/h. it was driven by Andy Green and achieved the record in 2006.

4.) A Top Oil-Ack Attack – Fastest Motorcycle Land Speed Record

The world’s fastest motorcycle land speed record was attained by the Top Oil-Ack Attack which was driven on September 25, 2010 by Rocky Robinson of the United States. The event took place in Bonneville, USA. Robinson used the vehicle “A Top Oil-Ack Attack” streamliner with an engine displacement of 2,600 cc and reached a speed of 605.697 km/h. Hayabusa is still the fastest production motorcycle in the world.

5.) Buckeye Bullet – Fastest Electric-powered Land Speed Record

The world record holder for the fastest electric-powered land speed record is the Buckeye Bullet. It attained the speed record of 495.140 km/h on August 24, 2010. The vehicle was driven by Roger Schroer of the United States on the world-famous Bonneville Speedway.

6.) Ecotricity Greenbird – Fastest Wind-powered Land Speed Record
The fastest wind-powered land speed record is held by the Ecotricity Greenbird which was driven by Richard Jerkins of the United Kingdom on March 26, 2009. It achieved a speed record of 202.9 km/h at the Ivanpah Lake.

7.) Sunswift IVy – Solar-powered Land Speed Record



Solar-powered car will soon be the car of the next generations. The world record title holder for the fastest solar-powered land speed record belongs to the Sunswift IVy. The vehicle, driven by Barton Mawer of Australia, attained a speed of 88.8 km/hr on January 7, 2011. The Sunswift Ivy is currently the top ranked silicon solar car in the world.

Beautiful and Useful Ornamental Plants + Their Many Uses and Health Benefits

Some people plant for hobby - for fun, for satisfaction and for beautification. Lots of people plant for profit or for business. But most of us plant ornamental plants for the mere purpose of beautifying our gardens – our surrounding. At this present economic situation of the world, we should be wise. Let’s grow beautiful ornamental plants that provide us beauty and at the same time provide us other economic importance like medicine, foods and other household uses.

1.) Common Chicory (Cichorium intybus)


Common Chicory of Europe and North America is a beautiful ornamental plant with blue, lavender, or occasionally white flowers. Other common names include Blue Sailors, Succory and Coffeeweed.

Important uses:
  • Leaves and roots are baked, ground and used as a coffee substitute and additive
  • Leaf and flower are use as treatment for everyday ailments.
  • Use variously as a tonic and appetite stimulant
  • Use as a treatment for gallstone, gastro-enteritis and sinus problems

Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno
Rafael “Paeng” Nepomuceno, named the greatest Filipino athlete of all time by Philippine Congress, was also inducted into the International Bowling Hall of Fame in St. Louis, MO. He is bowling 6 times world champion in 4 different decades (1970s,1980s, 1990s, and 2000s)

He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for three records: 1) for most Bowling World cup wins, 2) for being the youngest ever to win the Bowling World Cup (at 19 years of age), and 3) for having won the most number of bowling tournament titles. In total, Paeng has 118 career bowling titles.

He is the only bowling athlete in the world who has received the prestigious International Olympic Committee President's Trophy and was the first international male bowling athlete to be enshrined in the International Bowling Hall of Fame.

In 1999, the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs (FIQ) named Paeng as the "International Bowling Athlete of the Millennium”.
