1. Pontefract – UK

Oops… these are not old silver coins it’s called Pontefract cake. These small, roughly circular and sweet tablets are made of liquorice. Originally, it is manufactured in Yorkshire, Pontefract in England. It is also called Pomfret cakes and Pomfrey cakes.
2. Croquembouche – France

This unique-looking cake is a French dessert called “croquembouche or croquenbouche”. It is the usually served at weddings, baptism and first communions. Croquembouche is a French word which means “crunch in the mouth’. This high cone dessert consists of profiteroles, decorated with thread of caramels, chocolate, flowers, sugared almonds and ribbons.
