The East Asian country of North Korea, which is officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, occupies the northern half of the Korean Peninsula. The country, a socialist republic, is the most militarized nation in the world with a total of 9.495 million active, reserve and paramilitary personnel.
This nuclear weapon state is also considered the most isolated country in the world and has been tagged by some as “The Hermit Kingdom”. Although the country is isolated, there are numerous tourist spots and attractions in the country. Here are some of them.

Arirang Festival

One of North Korea’s most popular tourist attractions if not the best is the Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance Arirang. These festivals are held in the Rungrado May Day Stadium in the country’s capital – Pyongyang. The festivals, a two-month gymnastics and artistic festival, are held annually in celebration of Kim Il-sung’s birthday.
