Here’s a list of some of the most popular and peculiar tourist destinations in the Philippines – my beloved motherland.

Come to the beautiful archipelago called Philippines – the Pearl of the Orient and see some of the most unique and wonderful tourist destinations in the country.

Calawit Wildlife Sanctuary – Palawan

You might have thought this is Safari Jungle in Africa.
Calawit Wildlife Santuary is a unique tourist destination located in the Calawit Island which lies in the northwestern coast of Palawan. The Glamorous San Jose City Cathedral’s Christmas Lights

The Glamorous San Jose City Cathedral’s Christmas Lights

San Jose City Cathedral in the province of Nueva Ecija in Central Luzon, Philippines is one of the largest and most beautiful cathedrals in the region if not in the entire archipelago.

Last Sunday, December 5, 2010 the Cathedral’s Christmas Lights was illuminated for the first time for this year’s Christmas Season. My daughter Angel took all the fascinating shots of the newly illuminated San Jose City Cathedral.

I Was Looking for Someone to Love by Leif Garrett

I told myself when you smiled at me,
This time its gonna be forever,
I didn’t know you would hurt me so;
But from the very start
You are the one who would break my heart

(‘Coz) I was looking for someone to love,
And, oh, the heartaches I found;
I was looking for someone to love,

But you were just looking around.

You lead me on pretendin’ you could care,
Promisin’ the love we’d share together;
I’ve closed the door, I cant take it anymore,
Love will never be the same
You turned it around, and you made it a game.

Desiderata (Mga Inasam na Bagay)

Desiderata
(Mga Inasam na Bagay)

Translated in Filipino by: Nobert Soloria Bermosa

“Desiderata” is one of the most popular prose poems in the world. “Desiderata” is Latin which means “desired things” It was written by Indiana writer Max Ehrmann. It exhorts the reader to "be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be", and to "keep peace with your soul". "With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams," wrote Ehrmann, "it is still a beautiful world."

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
Humayong may kapanatagan sa gitna ng ingay at kaabalahan,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
at tandaang may nakalaang kapayapaan sa katahimikan.

As far as possible without surrender
Hangga't maaari na walang pagsuko
be on good terms with all persons.
sikaping makibagay sa lahat ng tao.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
Sambitin mo ang ‘yong katotohanan ng payapa at malinaw;
and listen to others,
gayundi’y makinig ka sa’yong kapwa,
even the dull and the ignorant;
maging ang mapupurol at mga mangmang;
they too have their story.
sila rin nama’y mayroong kuwento.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
Iwasan ang mga hambog at mga agresibong tao;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
sila ay magpapagalit sa espiritu.

If you compare yourself with others,
Kung ihahambing mo sa iba ang sarili,
you may become vain and bitter;
maaari kang maging hambog at mapaghinanakit,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
sapagkat palagiang may mas nakahihigit at may mas mababang tao sa’yo.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Ipagdiwang mo ang iyong mga nakamit gayundin ang ‘yong mga mithiin.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
Panatilihin ang pagkawili sa iyong gawain, gaano man kaaba,
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
tunay itong kayamanan sa pabago-bagong kapalaran ng panahon.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
Palagiang lakipan ng pag-iingat ang bawat mong pakikipagdaupang-palad,
for the world is full of trickery.
Sapagkat ang mundo’y punong-puno ng panlilinlang.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
Gayunpama’y huwag mong ikabulag ito sa kabutihang naririyan din;
many persons strive for high ideals;
marami ang nagpupunyaging matamo ang matatayog na mithiin,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
at sa lahat ng dako ang buhay ay puno ng kabayanihan.

Be yourself.
Ipakita ang tunay na sarili.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Lalo’t higit, pagsinta’y huwag ikubli.
Neither be cynical about love;
Maging sa pag-ibig huwag maging mapagduda;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
dahil sa harap ng katigangan at napawing tiwala,
it is as perennial as the grass.
gaya ng damo ito'y habampanahong naririyan.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
Malugod na tanggapin ang mga payo ng panahon,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Habang magiliw na isinusuko ang mga bagay ng kabataan.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
Kalingain ang lakas ng kalooban upang magsilbing kalis sa biglaang kasawian.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Subalit huwag pagurin ang sarili sa masasamang pangitain.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Maraming pangamba'y dulot ng pagkapagod at kalungkutan.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
Sa likod ng kasiya-siyang kaasalan,
be gentle with yourself.
maging marahan sa’yong sarili.
You are a child of the universe,
Ikaw ay isang anak ng sansinukob,
no less than the trees and the stars;
tulad ng mga kahoy at bituin;
you have a right to be here.
May karapatan kang dito’y manatili.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
At kahit malinaw man o hindi sa iyo,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
walang alinlangan ang sandaigdigan ay patuloy na iinog.

Therefore be at peace with God,
Kaya nga sikaping makamit ang kapayapaan sa Diyos,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
anuman ang iyong pagkakilala sa Kanya sa iyong isipan.
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
at kahit anuman ang iyong mga pasanin at mga inaasam,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
sa maingay na pagkalito ng buhay panatilihin ang kapayapaan sa kalooban.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
Kasama ang lahat ng pagkukunwari, pagdurusa at mga nawasak na pangarap,
it is still a beautiful world.
ito'y isa pa ring daigdig na maganda.
Be cheerful.
Maging masaya
Strive to be happy.
Magpunyaging lumigaya.

A Forwarded Message: What Happens in Heaven?

A Forwarded Message: What Happens in Heaven?

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This is the Receiving Section.
Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.'

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on
voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section..

The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the
people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them... 'I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the Acknowledgment Section,' my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed 'How is it that there is no work going on here?' I asked.

'So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments
..'

'How does one acknowledge God's blessings?' I asked.

'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'

'What blessings should they acknowledge?' I asked.

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy .'

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'

'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness
... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day .'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or
the pangs of starvation .... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'

'If you can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world.
'

'If your parents are still alive and still married
....you are very rare .'

'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair.'

Okay, what now? How can I start? If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings!!!

Heal the World
(lyrics)
Narrated:
Think about the generations and to say we want to make it a better
world for our children and our children's children. So that they know
it's a better world for them; and think if they can make it a better
place.

There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow.
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow.
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space, make a better place.

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for
You and for me.

If you want to know why
There's a love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares for joyful giving.
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear or dread
We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
Make a better world, make a better world.

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race.
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for
You and for me.

Bridge:
And the dream we would conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify it's soul
Though it's plain to see, this world is heavenly
Be God's glow.

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel
You are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we'll cry happy tears
See the nations turn
Their swords into plowshares
We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space to make a better place.

Chorus:
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for
You and for me.

Refrain (2x)

There are people dying if you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me.
There are people dying if you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me.

You and for me / Make a better place
You and for me / Make a better place
You and for me / Make a better place
You and for me / Heal the world we live in
You and for me / Save it for our children
You and for me / Heal the world we live in
You and for me / Save it for our children
You and for me / Heal the world we live in
You and for me / Save it for our children
You and for me / Heal the world we live in
You and for me / Save it for our children

Together We Can Make It

Together We Can Make It

Last night I couldn’t get to sleep at all
Every detail I need to recall
Figuring out everything big or small
Keep asking myself what went wrong
Suddenly you sounded like a sad song;

I have been telling you again and again
In every relationship there’s hardship and pain
The sun doesn’t always shine sometimes it rain
So please inculcate this in your mind
Together we can stand the test of time;

Be encourage to be strong enough
Do not get mad and do not be sad
Everything that is turning out bad
Together we can make them all right
Then one day we will see the light;

Foremost to prevail should be happiness
Forget “bout the sorrows and loneliness
Throw away all our problems and worries
Together we can make it along the way
So never give up on us baby;

I”m going to prove to you my endurance
‘Coz I want an everlasting romance
Just continue giving me the chance
Entrust your love to me all at once
For I can’t afford losing you my little one;

Let us make a promise my dear
We’ll never leave one another
There will never be no other
Just you and I together
Now and until forever.

Seven Deadly Reasons Why You Should Stop Smoking

Seven Deadly Reasons Why You Should Stop Smoking

There’s Nothing More Excruciating Than Slow Death

Here are the Seven Deadly Chemical Content of Cigarettes

1.) A cigarette contains Benzene - a solvent used in fuel and chemical manufacturing

Benzene is an organic chemical compound which is colorless and highly flammable liquid used as an additive in gasoline, synthetic rubber, plastics solvent and dyes.

2.) A cigarette contains Formaldehyde - a very poisonous liquid that is used to preserve dead bodies

Formaldehyde, systematically named methanal, is a toxic organic compound which is hazardous to human health.

3.) A cigarette contains Ammonia - a chemical found in cleaning fluids

Ammonia is a compound of hydrogen and nitrogen with pungent odor. This colorless gas, which is both helpful and hazardous, is used in commercial cleaning products.

4.) A cigarette contains Hydrogen cyanide - a poison used as a fumigant to kill ants. It is also used to manufacture plastics, dyes, and pesticides.

Historically, Hydrogen cyanide is commonly known as Prussic acid. This colorless compound is extremely poisonous that boils slightly above room temperature at 26 °C. The volatile compound has been used as inhalation rodenticide and human poison.

5.) A cigarette contains Cadmium - an extremely poisonous and radioactive metal found in batteries.

Cadmium, a soft, bluish-white metal, is a chemical element used for a long time as a pigment and for corrosion resistant plating on steel. Cadmium compounds were used to stabilize plastic. Their usages today are limited to nickel-cadmium batteries and cadmium telluride solar panels due to its high toxicity.

6.) A cigarette contains Acetone - a corrosive liquid solvent found in nail polish remover.

Acetone, a colorless, flammable, mobile liquid, is an organic compound which is
the simplest example of the ketones. Familiar household uses of acetone include paint thinner and sanitary cleaner, aside from nail polish remover. Acetone is not considered hazardous to humans but they can still cause health risks one way or the other.

7.) Arsenic - an ingredient used in the manufacture of rat poison.

Arsenic is a notoriously poisonous chemical element used as herbicides, insecticides, pesticides and in various alloys.

Im Missing You So Much

I’m Missing You So Much

It’s so hard to be away
From you my loving baby
Every minute of the day
I’m missing you terribly
Feels like I’m going crazy;

I’m longing so much to see you
I want to feel your embraces
Wish I’m lying right next to you
And feel again your sweet caress;

How I really wish that we had never part
Once in a while I’m glancing at your photograph
Hoping that in my dream we will be together
Forever in there we will be with each other;

If only with you I could stay
Each and every moment of the day
If only in two places I could be
Today and for always with you I’ll be

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
Through all those years
Of laughter and tears
Of sad and happy days
Still standing strong together
It’s our anniversary again
Time for reminiscence
Time to recall happy moments
And of the sad memories
I have no gift to offer
Like diamonds or jewelries
Only my love and faithfulness
That I can assure to give
Happy Anniversary!
