Amazing People That Hold Amazing World Records

Some people are amazingly extraordinary.

1.) Manjit Singh
Can you inflate a standard meteorological balloon (1,000g) to a diameter of 2.44 m or 8 ft under time pressure? Manjit Singh of the UK achieved this in 42 minutes at Rushley Pavilion Centre, Leicester, UK on September 16, 1998 – making him the man with the most powerful lungs in the world.

He holds 31 Guinness World Records for feats of strength concerned with pulling large obstacles such as;
-         pulling an empty double-decker bus over 55 feet with his teeth
-         pulling a double-decker with 54 passengers on board with one hand for a distance of 180 feet
-         pulling a similar bus with 30 people aboard for 256 feet using only his ponytail
-         using his ears to lift 85 kg and hauling an 8 tonnes mobile library for 18m
-         In 1995 he pulled a 203,000-pound Vulcan bomber for 6 inches using a harness round his body.

2.) Kim Goodman
Kim Goodman of the USA can pop her eyeballs to a protrusion of 12 mm or 0.47 inches beyond her eye sockets. Her eyes were measured in Istanbul, Turkey, on November 2, 2007.

 3.) Hans Langseth
Hans Langseth of Norway died in 1927 and his beard was measured at 17.5 feet. Hans Langseth’s beard is now on display at the Smithsonian Institution in the United States.

4.) Annika Irmler
Annika Irmler is recognized as the female with the longest tongue in the world. Her tongue is 2.7 inches long.

5.) Lee Redmond
Lee Redmond of Utah, USA is recognized as he person with the longest fingernails. The total length of her nails is 28 ft 4.5 in. She lost them on a car crash in 2009.

6.) Mehmet Ozyurek
Mehmet Ozyurek is the man with the longest nose in the world. This man’s nose measured 4.5 inches long. He is from Turkey.

7.) Devendra Harne and Pranamya Menaria
Two persons are recognized for having the most fingers and toes - Devendra Harne and Pranamya Menaria. They both have 25 fingers and toes – 12 fingers and 13 toes. They are both from India.

8.) Frank Ames
Frank Ames of Saranac New York is recognized as the person with the longest eyebrow hair in the world. It measured 3.7 in or 9.6 cm.

9.) Vivian Wheeler
Vivian Wheeler is recognized as the World's Longest Female Beard. Her beard’s measurement is 11 inches long.

10.) Badamsinh
Badamsinh of India was measured on February 29, 2004 and was declared to be the man with the longest mustache in the world. It was 12.5 feet long or 4.2 meters in length.

11.) Radhakant Bajpai
A man in northern India name Radhakant Bajpai has been recognized by Guinness World Records as having the world’s longest ear hair. The tufts coming out of the man’s ears measured more than 5 inches when he set the record in 2003.The hair has now grown to nearly 10 inches.

12.) Wes Pemberton
Wes Pemberton of Tyler holds the world record for the longest leg hair. His hair, which is about 5 inches long, exceeded the previous record of 4.88 inches long.

13.) Tran Van Hay
Tran Van Hay, a Vietnamese, has not cut his hair in 31 years. It is 6.2 meters long and is recognized as the man with the longest hair in the world.

14.) Xie Qiuping
A 40 year-old woman name Xie Qiuping of China is recognized as the woman to have the world’s longest documented hair. Her hair is 5.627 meters long or 18 ft 5.54 inches. She has not cut his hair since she’s 13.

15.) Jonah Falcon
Jonah Falcon has the world’s longest reproductive organ (male) on record at 13½in.

16.) Shamsher Singh
Currently, the longest beard belongs to Shamsher Singh of India. His beard last measured in at 6 feet long. He still has a long way to go.

17.) Stephen Taylor
Stephen Taylor of the United Kingdom has a tongue that measures 9.5 cm or 3.74 inches from the tip to the center of his closed top lip. It was measured in Milan, Italy on January 5, 2006.

Amazing Mothers: Most Children Delivered at a Single Birth to Survive


There are 3 known cases of 7 or septuplet children surviving.

The wife of a peasant from Russia named Feodor Vassilyev gave birth to 69 children: 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets between 1725 and 1765 – the record for most children birthed by a single woman.  In a total of 27 births, 67 of the 69 children born are said to have survived infancy

1.) McCaughey Septuplets
Bobbi McCaughey of the United States delivered a set of septuplets, four boys and three girls on November 19, 1997 at the Blank Children's Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa, USA. Conceived by in vitro fertilization, the babies were delivered after 31 weeks, by caesarean in the space of 16 minutes. They weighed between 1,048 g - 1,474.3 g.

The name of the babies are; Brandon, Joel, Kelsey, Kenneth, Nathaniel, Alexis and Natalie.

2.) Humair Septuplets
A 40-year old mother in the name of Hasna Mohammed Humair of Saudi Arabia delivered a set of surviving septuplets on January 14, 1998. The babies, four boys and three girl,s were born eight weeks premature. The smallest of which weighed just below 907 g, were born at the Abha Obstetric Hospital, Aseer. Hasna already has 6 children prior to the unplanned pregnancy was the result of a fertility drug prescribed to regulate her menstrual cycle.


3.) Khamis Septuplets
The Khamis septuplets were on born August 16, 2008 in Alexandria, Egypt. Their mother is the 27-year-old Ghazala Khamis. They were the fifth set of septuplets to all survive. The newborns, four boys and three girls, had been placed in incubators in four different hospitals since they were premature. The babies' weights ranged from 1.45 to 2.8 kilograms. The mother took fertility drugs in order to produce a son, since she already had three daughters.

4.) Chukwu Septuplets
Another mother, Nikem Chukwu of the United States delivered a set of octuplets on December 20, 1998 at St. Luke Hospital in Houston, Texas, USA. The babies are composed of six girls and two boys. The eldest was born by natural birth on December 8, 1998 and was 15 weeks premature. The remaining seven were delivered by caesarean December. They were 13 weeks premature. The names of the babies were as follows: Chidi, Chima, Ebuka, Echerem, Gorom, Ikem, jioe and Odera. They weighed between 320 - 810 g with Odera, the lightest who suffered heart and lung failure died 7 days after delivery on December 27, 1998. The remaining seven babies were discharged from hospital between March 3 and April 26, 1999.  The Chukwu Septuplets are actually octuplets.

5.) Frustaci Septuplets
The Frustaci septuplets were born on May 21, 1985 in Orange, California, USA. They were the first septuplets to be born in the US and were born at 28 weeks. Only three of the seven survived, two boys and a girl, with one daughter being stillborn and three dying within 19 days of birth.

6.) McGhee Septuplets
The McGhee septuplets were born on June 9, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio, USA to Rozonno and Mia McGhee, 27 weeks into the pregnancy. One of the children, a girl, was stillborn. The other two girls named Olivia and Madison and the four boys - Rozonno Jr., Elijah, Isaac and Josiah weighed between 1.5 lb. to a fraction over 2 lbs.

7.) Qahtani Septuplets
The Qahtani septuplets were born July 12, 2001 in Washington D.C., USA and were the fourth set of septuplets to live past infancy. In December 2001, it was reported that one of the septuplets had died of liver failure and three were hospitalized.

8.) Touile Septuplets
The Touile Septuplets were born on April 18, 2007 in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. The babies’ parents are Farhat and Souhila Touile. One of the babies, a boy, was stillborn; the remaining six are girls

Famous People Who Died of Eating and Drinking

1.) Tycho Brahe


Some etiquette kills!

Tycho Brahe is one of the most famous astronomer and alchemist during his time. But because of etiquette, he died at the age of 55 on October 24, 1601 due to complications resulting from a strained bladder at a banquet. Considered extremely bad etiquette to leave the table before the meal was finished, he stayed until he became fatally ill. He suddenly contracted a bladder or kidney ailment after attending a banquet in Prague, and died eleven days later.

2.) Adolf Frederick


Gluttony kills!

Adolf Frederick was king of Sweden from 1751 until his death in 1771. He died at the age of 60 on February 12, 1771 of digestion problems. What are the foods he ate? Well, he consumed a meal of caviar, lobster, sauerkraut, smoked herring and champagne. He topped it off with 14 servings of semla, his favorite dessert. Today, he is well remembered by Swedish schoolchildren as “the king who ate himself to death”.

3.) Julien Offray de La Mettrie


Overeating is dangerously deadly!

Julien Offray de La Mettrie is a popular materialist and sensual philosopher during his time. He is the author of L'Homme machine or Machine Man. Like King Adolf Frederick of Sweden, he also died of overeating at a feast given in his honor on November 11, 1751 at the age of 41.

4.) Marcus Licinius Crassus


Greediness will kill you!

How does gold tastes? Marcus Licinius Crassus is known in the Roman Empire as a wealthy man. This Roman general and consul was reported to have been put to death in 53 BCE by the Parthian General Surena after losing the battle of Carrhae. Crassus was forced to drink a goblet of molten gold, symbolic of his great wealth.

5.) Lucius Fabius Cilo
Watch out with the milk you drink!

This is ridiculously absurd. In 212, Lucius Fabius Cilo, a Roman senator of the 2nd century, died of choking by a single hair in a draught of milk.

6.) Len Koenecke
Too much drink will kill you!

It has been proven time and again that too much drink will kill you. In 1935, Baseball player Leonard George “Len” Koenecke died at the age of 34 due to excessive alcoholic drinking. While on a plane he drank a quart of whiskey and became very drunk. He then harassed other passengers and hit a stewardess. He was removed unconscious from the flight in Detroit and after sleeping on a chair in the airport he chartered a flight to Buffalo. While flying over Canada he had a disagreement with the pilot and a passenger and attempted to take control of the aircraft. In order to avoid a crash he was hit over the head by both the pilot and the other passenger with a fire extinguisher.

7.) Basil Brown
Carrots are healthy but they can be deadly!

In 1974, Basil Brown, a 48-year-old health food advocate from Croydon, drank himself to death with carrot juice. Anything that is too much will kill you.

8.) Maximo Rene Menendez
Be careful of soft drinks especially if it’s from Colombia!

Twenty years ago, Maximo Rene Menendez, a 25-year-old man from Miami, Florida, USA, fell into a coma after drinking “Pony Malta de Bavaria”, a Colombian soft drink. The bottle had been laced with cocaine in an apparent smuggling scheme. Menendez was declared brain dead and died after doctors disconnected his life-support equipment in 1991.
